About Me
I am a Masters student in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) after having completed my Bachelors degree in electrical engineering. My current research involves telepresence for musicians in a mixed-reality setting. In particular, I am interested in the factors in the audio experience that can convince the users of copresence.
I have also worked in haptics projects, both force-feedback and vibrotactile actuation based, the former of which was presented at the World Haptics Conference 2023. This project aimed to provide a color selection method for tremor patients, whether that would be for coloring, drawing, photo editing, etc.
Through these projects, I found that I enjoy finding the needs of a population and building tools that meet or exceed those needs. Therefore, I would love to keep making great tools as part of my career.
Below are some of those projects in which HCI concepts were implemented in more detail.
Featured Projects
TremCasso
A novel and adaptable haptic-enabled color picker for patients suffering from tremors using a pantograph-inspired force-feedback device. Presented at the World Haptics Conference 2023.
Haptic Bracelet Navigation
Two wrist-worn haptic-enabled devices to help get navigation directions without looking a phone screen.
World Percussion Performance Toolkit
A new music interface using a 9-DoF IMU and a LEAP motion controller used with Max/MSP to trigger samples, low-pass filtering parameters, and binaural audio output.
